Sowmya’s story is not the usual trajectory of a beauty queen. With a strong academic background, she pursued an M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from JNTU University, eventually becoming an associate professor. Her career in education allowed her to shape young minds and contribute meaningfully to society. Yet, beneath the structured environment of academia, she harbored a passion for fashion and modeling—a dream she had placed on the back burner for years.
The transition from a professor to Mrs. India 2023 was not easy. Many questioned her decision, doubting if she could balance work, family, and pageantry. However, Sowmya refused to be limited by external opinions. She proved that women can excel in multiple domains without compromising on their ambitions.

With immense support from her husband, Ram, a successful businessman, and encouragement from her uncle, Ramana, a journalist, Sowmya took a bold step toward fulfilling her aspirations. Their belief in her potential gave her the confidence to embrace this new chapter of her life.
Winning Mrs. Telangana 2023 was her first significant milestone, proving that she had what it took to compete at the national level. Shortly after, she clinched the Mrs. India 2023 title, a moment of triumph that silenced every doubt and reaffirmed that dreams don’t have an expiration date.

Having previously served as the Brand Ambassador and Telangana Director for Felina Fashion Pageant, she understands the industry and is now creating opportunities for other women to follow their dreams.
